Spy kids was shot on celluloid, but when Robert Rodriguez went to Skywalker Sound he got all chuffed with digital.

He's shooting his new movie, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, In Mexico, right now. and yes he's shooting on high deff digital video Using 24 fps sony camera. The picture quality on this thing is amazing. There shooting ten time as much footage with instant playback on set. Rodreguez is aparently doing rough edits on a computer on set and showing the cast how sequences are going to work.

I seem to remember that parts of Peter "loved by all pretentious film students" Greenaway's "Prospero's Books" was partly shot on HDTV (High Definition TV, kids).
That was in, what, 1989??
But enough history, let's all look forward to the day we can unroll our electronic paper and watch Star Wars Episode IX on demand ;-)
